On bullshit, bullshitting, bullshitters and sycophants

This is a serious discussion based on the scholarly definition of bullshit in the 2005 nonfiction US best selling book by Princeton University professor emeritus Harry Frankfurt - On Bullshit (see http://press.princeton.edu/titles/7929.html ; http://www.slate.com/id/2114268/ ). It is often difficult to decide whether statements are lies, bullshit or if one is dealing with sycophants doing what they think they ought to do.

Pathetic:

There is only one thing more pathetic than a bureaucrat trying to bullshit another bureaucrat and that is a current bureaucrat trying to bullshit a former or retired bureaucrat!
